Mondays seem to be the hardest day of the week for me. I noticed work isn’t as enjoyable as I want it to be. Here are three activities that I do to keep my mind and mood positive:
Jot down one activity that I am looking forward to completing that day.
I may have many tasks to get through before the clock hits 5:00pm. I also realize I need a goal or have a general sense of direction to work towards. Writing down one major activity that I tell myself that I will achieve keeps me accountable and motivated to move forward and make sure I stay productive and on task.
Practice mindfulness and be present in the moment.
From time to time, I go out for a short walk around the neighborhood to walk our dog. During these walks, I listen to my surroundings and pay attention to what’s happening around me. Most of the time, I either worry about events that have already happened or get anxiety from things that might happen. When my mind wanders, I try to bring myself back to the present moment and take in what I’m experiencing in that moment.
Write down at least one thing I am grateful for as part of my gratitude journal.
I like to journal when I have the time to, so I try to write down at least one thing that I’m grateful for in my life.
